All clinical services and social impact endeavours ?
Our outpatient services are based at the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Tygerberg Hospital. We provide primary care HIV services to surrounding areas of Tygerberg Hospital and provide tertiary Infectious Diseases services (including HIV) to the Northern Eastern subdistricts of the Cape Town Metro. Specialist clinics are provided for complicated infectious diseases problems such as advanced HIV, viral hepatitis, Kaposi Sarcoma, HIV associated renal diseases, rare infectious diseases and primary immunodeficiencies.
Inpatient services include antimicrobial stewardship activities, daily clinical infectious diseases consultation service to all departments in Tygerberg Hospital and promoting infection prevention and control practices across the hospital platform.
The TBH ID division is the preferred referral destination for all suspected and confirmed viral haemorrhagic fever cases presenting in the Western Cape province. We offer an after hours and weekend on call service to the entire referral area.
Medical officers in the division contributes to the Palliative care service in Tygerberg Hospital.
The Division has been actively involved with Western Cape Provincial Communicable Diseases Control for many years.
